At the tomb

With the guidance of the gospels; we have a vivid description of the events surrounding the tomb of Christ. Sometime after the sabbath had ended (Saturday evening); Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome purchased some spices to anoint the body of the Lord (Mark 16:1). It was very early on Sunday at sunrise, that a group of women came to the sepulchre (Mark 16:2 and Luke 24:1). Mary Magdalene and the other Mary arrived at the tomb before the others (John 20:1-"while it was still dark" and Matthew 28:1-"as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week").

Mary Magdalene own words in the Gospel of John testifies that she wasn't alone in noticed of the missing body of Jesus - Chapter 20 vs 2: They have taken away the Lord out of the sepulchre, and WE (plural) know not where they have laid him.

Mark 16:2 doesn't give us the names of the women that actually went to the tomb on Sunday. Looking at Luke 24:10.. We do not see Salome listed by that name as part of the women who been at the burial site, but the two Mary are...so it's not clear if she made the travel with them. We are only certain that she bought some items.

On the way there, there was a discussion on how to remove the huge stone blocking the entrance
(Mark 16 :3). Before their arrival there was an earthquake, in which an angel descended from heaven came and rolled backed the stone and sat on it (Matthew 28:2). When they reached their destination, they saw that the obstacle was removed (Mark 16:4, Luke 24:2, and John 20:1); so they entered into the tomb and discovered the Lord's body was missing (Luke 24:3).

Inside the tomb was an angel sitting on the right side (Mark 16:5). The angel acknowledged that the women are looking for the body of Jesus and informed them that the Lord had risen (Mark 16:6 and Matthew 28:5&6). The ones that experienced this fled from the site, possibly passed the other women who may have been standing outside of the tomb (Luke 24:5- "bowed down their faces to the earth"..Keyword is earth), without saying a word to "them" and/or others (Mark 16:8) focusing only on disclosing the news to the disciples(Mark 16:10 and Matthew 28:8)in keeping with what was requested (Mark 16:7 and Matthew 28:7).

Just before they reached the disciples, Jesus appeared to them and they worshipped at His feet(Matthew 28:9). The women were to give the disciples a message to meet the Lord in Galilee (Matthew 28:10). Mary Magdalene may have met the resurrected Christ, but the scripture doesn't tell us if she was immediately aware of who he was according to the gospel of Matthew.... in the same manner she didn't instantly recognize Christ in the gospel of John chapter 20 vs 14. She mistaken Him as a gardener. Worshipping at His feet doesn't indicate they knew Who He was(Matthew 28:9)...given that that was the same reaction with the two angels in Luke 24:4 & 5. What we do know, according to scripture, is that the Lord's resurrected appearance could be unrecognizable (Luke 24:13-16).

With the elapsing of time (Luke 24:4-"And it came to pass"), The women's jubilation (Matthew 28:8) was replaced with some confusion (Luke 24:4-"As they were much perplexed"). Suddenly, two angels stood by these groups of women  (Luke 24:4) and freshen their memory concerning the words of Christ (Luke 24:6-8). Afterwards, they also went to notify the disciples of said events (Luke 24:9). Their report wasn't believed (Luke 24:11 and Mark 16:11).

Mary Magdalene personally gave her interpretation of the experience to the apostles Peter and John (John 20:2). She did not yet understand the concept of the resurrection (John 20:9) so she thought someone moved the body of Christ (John 20:2). Peter and John decided to go to the tomb to see for themselves (John 20:3). John reached the sepulchre first (John 20:4)

He stooped to get a look inside, but didn't go in. John noticed the linen clothes (John 20:5)...shortly after, Peter arrived at the location. He also bend to get a view of the inside (Luke 24:12). He noted the linen clothes laid separately (Luke 24:12). Peter decided to go inside where he then observed the linen clothes and the napkin used to cover the head of the Lord (John 20:6&7). John then decided to join Peter, when he saw the empty tomb with the linen clothes and napkin, he believed (John 20:8).
However, Peter was not yet convinced (John 20:9 and Luke 24:12) wondering in himself at that which was come to pass. The men went to their own home (John 20:10). Mary Magdalene remained at the sepulchre (John 20:11).

While mourning, Mary Magdalene also crouched to glance at the interior of the grave (John 20:11) where she saw two seated angels, one at each end of the body where Jesus was laid (John 20:12). Directly after your responses to the angels, an unidentifiable Jesus stood behind her (John 20:14).

When Jesus spoken her name, Mary knew it was Christ (John 20:16). She may have rushed to embrace him for he told her not to touch him because he did not ascend to the Father yet (John 20:17). The Lord was not telling Mary she couldn't feel Him with her hands, keeping in mind, she already did earlier (Matthew 28:9-"And they came and held him by the feet"). Physical touch wasn't the issue, this is confirmed in John 20:27 when the Lord also invited Thomas to probe his open wombs.

Jesus was telling Mary she could not adjoin herself to him yet. Mē mou haptou is the Greek phrase for "Touch me not", it insinuates an emotional clinging. With seeing the living Messiah, the scriptures seems to suggest that Mary Magdalene desired to keep the resurrected Lord with her, but Jesus informs her that He must ascend to God (John 20:17), where he would be more beneficial. She returned to the disciples with an explanation of the absent body, that with her own eyes, she saw Jesus alive (John 20:18).

The burial of Jesus

The New Testament is clear; Joseph of Arimathaea with Nicodemus took the body of Christ down, wrapped it in linen, and laid it in the sepulchre (Matthew 27: 57-60, Mark 15:43-46, Luke 23:53 and John 19: 39-42). They  were both Jewish rulers (Mark 15:43 and John 3:1) and thus included in the mentioning of those in Acts 13:29 concerning the burial of Jesus.

Obviously, Jesus couldn't have been a stranger (see Acts 13:27 wording "they knew him not") to the Jews and rulers who buried him if they also
crucified him. Acts 13:27 teaches us that the people of Jerusalem, both citizens and leaders, didn't recognize (see Acts 13:27 wording "they knew him not") that Jesus was the Messiah of their scriptures, even though it is read every week.

This may also have been true among some of his acolytes (note that when Christ asked His followers who do they think He is..only Peter is documented at that period of time as acknowledging/recognizing who Jesus is):

Matthew 16:
13 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?

14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.

15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am (Naturally, Jesus wasn't a stranger to them physically. He was asking them if they perceived who He is by Spirit...this is confirmed in vs 17)?

16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of  the living God.

17 Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah,  for flesh and blood (physical) has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven (Spirit..John 4:24) .

Bone of my bone (Intro) 2

The biblical narrative of the origination of the modern female gender involves the usage of the male rib (Genesis 2:22).
The Hebrew word used in this text for rib is tsela, it means curve and side. Curve as in double helix DNA within the chromosomes. In short, we have a brief description of the formation of the present-day woman. The removal of one rib from the periosteum and leaving it intact in order for a new rib to regenerate (Genesis 2:21). Inside that rib was the genetic information to create life by the utilization of the "curve" or double helix DNA and the importance of the "side" of the strand.
Our ribs are located on the SIDES of our anatomy. CURVED bones forms the rib cage. These bones with joints connects to the spinal vertebrae. The sugars and phosphates makes up the SIDES of double helix DNA (curve) and they are known as the "backbone" to the structure (similar to the "floating" ribs and their relation to the spine).

Bone of my bone (Intro)

One of the most questionable claims is that which comes from the book of Genesis in the Holy Bible concerning the origin of the female gender. The Bible statement is straightforward, God put the man, Adam,in a deep sleep and removed one of his ribs. He used that rib to fashion the woman, Eve (Genesis 2:21 & 22).
Endless assumption have been made by reading in personal interpretations of the text such as men in general have less ribs.

Let's ignore the fact that a lost body part is not hereditary. A parent with a missing arm or leg will no more past on that feature to their offspring, than one with an absent rib. Medical advancement has proven that the rib regenerates. Interesting enough, it's only possible when the periosteum remains intact. This brings us to Genesis 2:21,
"closed up the flesh at that spot" (where the rib was). Periosteum is a tissue/membrane (flesh) that coats the exterior of the majority of bones. Osteogenic cells (osteoblasts) within, functions in the reproduction of bones.

Habakkuk's dialogue with God

They say perception is everything. The inertia of Judah was framing their own reality. They were lacking the discernment to understand their current condition (Romans 3:11). They deemed themselves to be just and righteous(Romans 3:10) in comparison to the wicked (Chapter 1:4).  It is within this mindset, the prophet Habakkuk approaches his dialogue with God.

The lamentation begins with a petition to God for intervention on behalf  of the perceived guiltless (chapter 1:2-4). The prophet struggles to find answers for injustice  (chapter 1:4). Within his inquiry, the solution materialize. The wording "that is why decision fails" (chapter 1:4)
meaning is connected to the slack of Torah observance. Divine Law is in contrast with man-made laws that do not govern societies properly, they produce lawlessness; which brings about "deformed" judgment. In other words, observe the laws of God (chapter 1:5) or submit to the laws of men and their judgment. We see it often, people desirous of societal sinful
lifestyle and practices until it includes discrimination, persecution, oppression, and any other ill treatment by a stronger group. So we conclude with these truths, God permitting (lack of intervening ..chapter 1:13) us to live under the laws of men which we have chosen (chapter 1:7).

God's response is very insightful. We learn that authority is granted by Him (chapter 1:6). So what may be humanly understood as injustice, could very well be "redeemable" judgment (that which leads to repentance and salvation).

John 19:10-11

10.Then saith Pilate unto him, Speakest thou not unto me? knowest thou not that I have power to crucify thee, and have power to release thee?

11. Jesus answered, "You would have no power over me if it were not given to you from above. Therefore the one who handed me over to you is guilty of a greater sin."

We see in the example of the Lord, that God allowed Pilate to be in a position to execute punishment, but he did not have the ultimate power over fate..to render judgment against sin.

Then the conversation proceeded to the topic of greater degrees of wickedness (chapter 1:13). The matter of action or lack thereof is not solely seen in behavior (it is found in the heart). We see that Pilate may have officially issued the death of Christ (sin), but those who handed him over to be killed were wicked as well (greater sin)....the latter just lacked the position of power to physically carry out the death sentence. History has taught us in many cases that people tend to behave in the same manner with given power.. The Oppressed becomes the oppressor, victims of racism become racist, and so forth. People are much more willing to question their current realities (and its consequences) than they are to do a self-examination of their own heart and spiritual condition.

The prophets goes on to compare the lost of dominion (something Judah and Israel could relate too) with the fishes of the sea (Genesis 1:28) in chapter one verse fifteen. This brings us to the statement made by Jesus, "“Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men (Matthew 4:19)”.
Essentially, I will restore your sovereignty. This is after Christ saw Simon Peter and his brother Andrew "casting a net into the sea" (Matthew 4:18).
Intune with Habakkuk written message, "He has fished them all up with a line, pulled them up in his trawl, And gathered them in his net (chapter 1:15).
We have a picture of worldly hegemony, that gathers nations up to slay them for their resources (chapter 1:14-17). And then there is the spiritual ascendancy that collect nations because they are the wealth (Revelation 21:24).

We are encouraged that though justices may seem late, it's always on time (Chapter 2:3).

Hebrews 10:37
For, "In just a little while, he who is coming will come and will not delay."

The prophets speak of God's famous reputation and longs to see examples of such in his day (chapter 3:2). But we must be reminded of those "waiting periods" too...Not only were the Hebrews freed from their Egyptian bondage with the mighty display of God's power...it was after tarring for it for hundreds of years.

Luke 21:19
In your patience possess ye your souls

Matthew 24:13
But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

None of the wicked will escape due penalty in its proper time (Chapter 2:5).
It is in the waiting, we find our purpose, to live our faith (Chapter 2:4).

....the just shall live by faith/living within the boundaries of God's
laws (Hebrews 10:38).

It is within our FAITHful lifestyle we find redemption in the end
(chapter 2:4).

2nd Timothy 4:7
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept
the faith.

In a world of instant gratification, waiting is difficult for many.
Regrettably, we see this leading to a great departure from the faith
(chapter 3:17).

Though the fig tree does not bud
and there are no grapes on the vines, (Matthew 21:18-19).

though the olive crop fails (Romans 11:17-24).

though there are no sheep in the pen  (Zechariah 13:7 & Matthew 26:31).

Knowledge of good and evil (information NOT wisdom) will increase during the last days (Daniel 12:4). Good information, the gospel of salvation will be spread to every part of the earth (chapter 2:14). The wisdom is not in the hearing it, but it the acceptance of it (Romans 10:9-10).

Matthew 24:14
And the Good News about the Kingdom will be preached throughout the whole world, so that all nations will hear it; and then the end will come.

Evil will lead to disbelief in God and His word. People will believe they have become awaken, enlighten, and educated; they will be no the more WISE in their own deception (2nd Timothy 3:13).

2nd Thessalonians 2:3
Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first....

You are warned not to be beguiled by all the antagonistic information shown to you because of the lack of wisdom to understand exactly what is presented.

In the end, the prophet's mood was rejoiceful (chapter 3:18) because of the realization that in the face of everything, victory belongs to the Lord (Psalm 3:8).

Free will and Freedom of Choice

The concept of "free will" is so diverse and has been debated for ages.
There is no conclusive understanding of it. From the Compatibilists' theory of it to Physicalism to....genetics/evolution... that one's "free will" is actually in the human's brains, genes, and heredity history or that it's nonexistent altogether, we naively think we have conscious control.

There is the acknowledgment of the internal conflict we struggle with as humans, in which our free will and ability to make choices are tested.
Both the Spirit (of God) and the flesh (of mankind) guides behavior.

Galatians 5:

19 The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery;

20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage,  selfish ambition dissensions, factions

21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of  God.

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance,
kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

Most people would probably agree that love, joy, peace, kindness and
goodness are desirable qualities, while hate, rage, discord, selfish
ambition are unappealing traits. However, many of us find ourselves
wrestling in our character building.

Romans 7:

14 We know that the law is SPIRITual; but I am unspiritual (flesh),
sold as a slave to sin.

15 I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do,
but what I hate I do. (Guided by the flesh/sin)

16 And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good (SPIRIT).

17 As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living
in me. (Submitted to the flesh/sin)

18 For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my
sinful nature.[a] For I have the desire to do what is good, but I
cannot carry it out.

19 For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to
do—this I keep on doing (Your free will).

20 Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it,
but it is sin living in me that does it (recognizing yourself as sinner).

21 So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right
there with me  .

22 For in my inner being I delight in God’s law;

23 but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of
my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within me (Freedom of Choice).

24 What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body (flesh)
that is subject to death?

When you build up your spirit by the Spirit of God, your will to chose
God's will becomes strong.

The perception of "Free Will" denotes power over being controlled. Jesus responds to Pilate in The Gospel of John chapter 19 give us an example of such:

John chapter 19:
10 So Pilate said to Him, "You do not speak to me? Do You not know that I have authority to release You, and I have authority to crucify You?"

11 Yeshua said to him, “You have no power at all over me unless it has been given to you from above;

There is no such thing as "forced upon us" with "free will" (and thus "freedom to choose")
regardless of how powerful another may be. YOU have to submit your own will, they do not have the power to take it (free will) away from you.  With "Freedom to Choose", comes consequences.

Jesus willingly submitted His WILL through His freedom to choose:

Luke 22:42

42 saying, "Father, if You are willing, remove this cup from Me; yet
NOT My will, but Yours be done."

With exercising His right and freedom of choice, He submitted His will to that of the Father's.

We are created with "free will" and "freedom to choose"..
A stronger force can easily influence religious and secular submission.
Take for example..the average man to the average woman...can he overpower her will in rape?.. more than likely (but she would need to submit her will and often women subconsciously do because she has been "conditioned" into believing she is NOT physically stronger than a man). Now provide a woman with an equalizer such as a gun or trained self defense (which has provided her with faith) and the same woman has increase her chances of NOT allowing a man's will to overpower her will. Then there are the cases of mothers uplifting cars off their child or boxing kangaroos to defend their offspring (which tells us she is actually her own equalizer, but doesn't know it and thus has no faith within herself, which weakens her choice to follow her will).

Please do not read only into the physical aspect of the examples and not the fact that the behavior or reaction depended on what takes place in the mental and/or spirit of a person.

And every parent knows, children also have a will of their own. The job of parenting is to guide them (Proverbs 22:6). If children didn't have free will and freedom to choose, then we would need to question parents for discipline them (people who have no will or mental capacity of their own to obey or disobey).

Free will does not depend on obeying, disobeying, or even our level of maturity, it simply means we were created "free spirits" with a will of our own. Nobody has the power to control that inner power. People can only influence us to submit to their desires....and we do it all the time (for obvious reason). Children are no different. The more vulnerable the position, the more likely we will submit our will to another for survival. This is why children typically make the choices to submit...but rest assure..they have their own will..and it is displayed all the time.
They constantly find ways to "rebel" (even if is that "switching of the light on and off" simply because dad/mom said not too ).

Throwing tantrums is typically an expression of rebellion against submission of the will. Toddlers are human beings with their own will and hate the fact they have to submit (which is taught by adults)... It's not in any of us to be dominated over. Children are confident in their OWN beliefs...they only submit to parents to survive (Choice), hence why when they reach their individual "survival age", that submission tends to go out the door.

Those who ENJOY their free will the most may not be those who are the most confident questionably....it could be said, it's those who have the "control" over being able to express their free will (without the threat of being dominated by another's free will). Let's take the Nazis as an example, there were plenty of Jews who were probably very confident in their beliefs and still submitted their will to the Nazi's....one may debate the Nazi's were more confident, but I disagree..it was easier for a Nazi, but it took extreme confidence for a Jew to be a Jew in those days.

We all choose to be confident in whatever we believe, whether it's in worldly beliefs or religious (or else we wouldn't believe it).
As soon as we operate in our "Freedom to Choose", regardless of the route it takes us, we become confident in it....it can be a circular process.
We are NOT confident in our beliefs because of enlightenment. There is too much available exposure to challenge any position. It is personal choices that people put trust in..

Joshua 24:14-15

14 “Now therefore fear the Lord and serve him in sincerity and in faithfulness. Put away the gods that your fathers served beyond the River and in Egypt, and serve the Lord.

15 And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

Pure Objectivity

On the notion that religion brainwashes...
Is anyone really a "free thinker"?
There is no avoiding "brainwashing". Religion is NOT the only method used to influence thoughts and ultimately behavior... We are all constantly being told many non-religious things as well..which forms our secular beliefs..

Non-religious people do not posses independence of thought.
They are just as much "brainwashed" as the next person (none of us is completely isolated from outside influences..We are all "brainwashed" if you will).....
Some of us are influenced by religion, education, popular public opinions, our peers/society at large or our ethnic/racial group, the media, secular philosophy, etc..

Most people probably believe they are NOT brainwashed.....that they are somehow uninfluenced by external aspects simply because they challenge one set of popular beliefs in favor of another....that is why one can easily accuse another of being "brainwashed" while completely ignoring the fact that they too have been leaded to believe in the ideology they profess/accept..
There is "nothing new under the sun"....There is nothing truly inventive in existence . Every learning has precedent from the past.... We're just recycling "knowledge" (or what is believed to be)..

Many of the non-religious attempt to convert religious people into
thinking as they do..while of course claiming to be against conformity and brainwashing.

Pure objectivity is an illusion. What you believe (think)..you have
been lead too. Perception of interpretation, beliefs, ideology, and religion is rooted in some preliminary perspective. You should never trust anyone who hasn't even lived 1,000 years, when claiming to KNOW
("figured out" truth, which is older than billions of years).

The mental contents of our minds can be manipulated by OUR OWN faculties and deposits. We are constantly taken in new information (both "simple/basic" & "complex")
which needs to be process/interpret through OUR various mental
capacities/capabilities. What about human intelligence and how it
functions? We do not all perceive, retain, understand, and apply
information the same.

We all see in part:
1st Corinthians 13:12
For NOW (keyword:now..as we live on this earth) we see through a glass, darkly; but THEN (Keyword is then)face to face:
NOW I know in part (our understanding will ALWAYS be limited in the "NOW");
but THEN shall I KNOW even as also I am known.

There is more wisdom in KNOWING you don't KNOW (now), than THINKING you know (now).

1st Corinthians 8:2
If anyone imagines that he knows something, he does not yet know as he ought to know.

Were You There?

Does the absence of biblical corpses conclude their nonexistence?

The standard of acceptability for historical figures should remain the
same for both the secular and religious. What classifies as "solid evidence"
in order to deny or accept the historicity of a person?

All bias aside..let's compare Hannibal, for example..

Although there are plenty of writings about this general
(minus the fact he is NOT mentioned in any Carthaginian sources
themselves..even though he is alleged to be their greatest leader...
Obviously because the victorious Romans burned their city down...so the Roman version of history would survive....Would that classify as "solid evidence", "proof" or possible forgeries of said events?).
There exist no archaeological evidence to support he ever existed.
What about the "disparities" (or would you call them contradictions)
in the details of the path Hannibal is said to have taken recorded by Polybius and Livy?

What we know about Hannibal comes from the Greeks and the Romans writings (NONE from archaeology to prove physical evidences...including any elephant remains or bones from any of the Carthaginian soldiers).
The historians, Polybius and Livy, couldn't even agree on the route he took...so even what could classify as literary evidence is questionable and NOT solid at all..

King Tut's remains was discovered in 1922-25...up to that point
one may have called for more "solid evidence"....
Then there is the mummy of Nefertiti who has yet be found or
officially identified. Whereas, King Uzziah/Azariah of Judah,
stone burial plaque has been discovered with said bones inside.
The Moabites revolt against this king (2nd Kings 3:5–7) is found in the Moabites records themselves on their Mesha stele. And there are countless other non-biblical records attesting to people of the Bible.

There is such a thing as invisible evidence.

For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:(Romans 1:20).

We know that with the aid of chemicals, special lights, and microscopes (NOTE:being understood by the things that are made); latent evidence become visible (NOTE:For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen).

Faith is not without evidence.

Now faith is the SUBSTANCE of things hoped for, the EVIDENCE of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1).

We see the psalmist speaks of the corroboration of his existences and those of his posterity, long before they physically materialize, in the form of double helix DNA.

Psalm 139:16
Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect (susceptible to dna mutation) ; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned,
when as yet there was none of them.

Double helix DNA is comparable to a book. The genetic information is understood by the written instructions (Note: and in thy book all my members {His personal set of genes & the known GENErations/members of  his bloodline who will follow Jeremiah 1:5} were written)... transferring
genes to the succeeding generation (Note: which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them).

So it's not that sources don't exist for claims of both the religious and secular....it's more or less about what is believed to be reliable or if you will "solid evidence", each of us is willing to accept or deny..

Preservation in Obedience

God called Abraham (then Abram) to forsake all that was familiar to him and  be ready to establish a great nation (Genesis 12:1 & 2). Joshua 24:2 tells us that Abraham's father Terah worshiped other gods. Perhaps this was true of Abraham as well before he was chosen and called? Abraham made that fateful decision to relinquish the familiarities...which paved the way for his descendants' new form of religious fervent.

Genesis 11:27 gives us a brief description of Abraham's lineage.
This is the account of Terah’s family line.

Terah became the father of Abram, Nahor and Haran.
And Haran became the father of Lot.

Haran was born in UR of the Chaldeans; where he later died (Genesis 11:28).. After his death; His father Terah decided he wanted to relocate to Canaan. Nahor remained in UR, while Abraham (Abram) and his wife Sarah (Sarai at the time), and Lot accompanied Terah. But when they came to Haran they settled there (Genesis 11:31). It was at Haran, Terah ultimately dies (Genesis 11:32)

The Sumerian civilization invented writing, composed dictionaries, and had superior knowledge of astronomy and arithmetic. Astrology as a form of religion was common practice. Ur was accustomed to polytheistic worship...the god of fire, moon, sun, and stars, were among their traditional entities of homage. Ur (which is modern day Iraq) was prosperous during this era.

As Abram was migrating; the Lord appeared to him and made a promise concerning Abram progeny. It was there that Abram built an altar unto God (Genesis 12: 6&7). The Holy Bible tells us that Abram (as a monotheist) went to Egypt to live for a while because of severe famine (Genesis 12:10).

This area is known as "The Fertile Crescent".
The region was occasionally watered by the rainfall. When the quantity of rain was low; drought obviously occurred. It was under these circumstances that brought many foreigners to Egypt. Egypt was typically well saturated due to the seasonal inundation of the Nile.....causing it to often withstand the surrounding droughts. It left Egypt to play host for its neighbors. Ancient Egyptian records tells of a drought that lasted from 2150 BC to 2000 BC. This fits into the time-frame of Genesis 12:10 involving Abram.

What is most interesting is the finding of a cuneiform by the ancient Sumerians (Keep in mind that Ur was an important Sumerian city) that dates to the same period (2050-2000 BC)...speaking on a great drought... the document is titled: Ur III cuneiform.

The Sumerian civilization gradual demise is linked by archaeological and geological evidence to a 200 year long drought that occurred around the same time in question. Shortly after, the Sumerian culture began to go extinct. More than 70 percent of ancient Mesopotamian colonies was deserted. Almost 100 percent of the occupied sector dwindled. Ur felled
around that time (about 2000 BC). It is within this backdrop that Abraham would come to understand how obeying the voice of God preserves.

The prophecy of Obadiah

This prophetic book's focal point is on the malicious behavior of Edom
against Judah during the destruction of Jerusalem in 586 BCE.
First we need to understand the relationship between God, Israel, and Edom. Edomites are kin to the Israelites (Chapter 1:10) via Esau, the brother of Jacob (Genesis 25:30, Deuteronomy 2:4 & 8). Hate between the two nations (Genesis 25:23) was unacceptable by God (Leviticus 19:17 and Deuteronomy 23:7).  For it is impossible to have love for the unseen while possessing hate or dislike for the visible (1st John 4:20). It was a fiat, the Edomites weren't in practice of keeping. But do God Himself hate Esau (Malachi 1:30)?

Edom's location was a mountainous territory (Chapter 1:3 & 9). It gave them a sense of arrogant security (Chapter 1:3). In verse three when God
speaks of Edom dwellings in the "cleft of the rock", the informed reader
understood, the Hebrew word for "cliff/rock", sela, shared the same name
of an important city of Edom. The pun was intended to address the two-fold layers of its haughtiness. The vocalization of such "Should your eyrie
be lodged among stars".....speaks on the consideration of scaling into
the celestial realm (Chapter 1:4). The pride of ascension was in his
heart (Chapter 1:4)...The same sin of satan:

Isaiah 14:

13 You said in your heart,
    “I will ascend to the heavens;
I will raise my throne
    above the stars of God;
I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly,

14 I will ascend above the tops of the clouds;
I will make myself like the Most High.”
on the utmost heights of Mount Zaphon

Astronomy was among the learned applications in the antiquity. Edom's
knowledge was held in high esteem (Jeremiah 49:7). But God was more
than capable of humbling them (Chapter 1:4 & 8).

Amos 5:8
Seek Him that maketh the seven stars and Orion, and turneth the shadow
of death into the morning, and maketh the day dark with night: that
calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face
of the earth: The LORD is his name:

We are told that if vintagers came to Edom, they would have been
merciful (Chapter 1:5)....being that they were forbidden to glean
more than once (Deuteronomy 24:21). However this is the Lord's doing..
which is confirmed in the Hebrew word for vintager (botzrim), evoking
the name of Edom's capital, Bozrah. Edom's guilt was in joining force
against Judah (chapter 1:10-15).

Earlier you were asked...Do God hate Esau (Malachi 1:30)?
The scope of the message progressed into a spiritual, futuristic universal view. The isolated ethnic group, Edom, shifts to a paradigm for the nations
The text did not exclude any nation, including Israel, "all" was brought
under condemnation (Chapter 1:15 and Romans 11:32). Confirmation of
Israel (along with Edom) inclusion is read into the following verse sixteen...
that same cup of punishment that they drank previously on the holy Mount would be repetitive (Jeremiah 25:15-29). They were told to drink until "their speech grows thick" (chapter 1:16)....brings us to the notion of
a diminish in the prophetic word..Which is another giveaway, that Israel
was included.

A studied contrast is found (chapter 1:18). The House of Jacob was
forecasted to be fire while the House of Joseph flame (Acts 2:3).The
expectation is to see this fulfillment within the messianic era.

Matthew 3:11
"I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me comes one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He
will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.

This promise from John the Baptist would have given hope to the Jews
of the day. Tradition held that the Holy Spirit departed (along with prophecy)
after the death of the prophets; Haggai,Zechariah, and Malachi.
The day of Pentecost ushered in the return of The Holy Spirit and the
prophetic word (Acts 2:4).

The house of Esau once settled in Seir (Genesis 36:8) which was an
exchangeable term for a goat and was also known as a prince of Hell in
demonology. With that information being known, a better understanding
can be gathered from the text that the house of  {spiritual} Esau shall be straw, burn, and devour (Chapter 1:18).

Matthew 3:12
He is ready to separate the chaff from the wheat with his winnowing
fork. Then he will clean up the threshing area, gathering the wheat
into his barn but burning the chaff {straw} with never-ending fire {devour}."

Matthew 25:31-46 (When reading this..bring to remembrance how Esau treated His brother to get the insightful comparative meaning):

31 “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with
him, then he will sit on his glorious throne.

32 Before him will be gathered all the nations {There is that all nation again..including Israel}, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep {Spiritual Jacob} from the goats {Spiritual Esau}.

33 And he will place the sheep on his right, but the goats on the left.

34 Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed
by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation
of the world.

35 For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave
me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me,

36 I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I
was in prison and you came to me.’

37 Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see
you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink?

38 And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and
clothe you?

39 And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’

40 And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it
to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’

41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed,
into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.

42 For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you
gave me no drink,

43 I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not
clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.’

44 Then they also will answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you
hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did
not minister to you?’

45 Then he will answer them, saying, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did
not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.’

46 And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous
into eternal life.”

As to be learned from "drink till their speech grows thick" among the
nations (chapter 1:16) a sense of paradox seems to be at play.

Acts 2:

5 And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of
every nation under heaven.

13 Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.

16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;

17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour
out of my Spirit upon all flesh {not just Israel}: and your sons and
your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions,
and your old men shall dream dreams:

18 And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those
days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:

We know that on Mount Zion shall be survival for some (Chapter 1:17).

Romans 11:
5.So too, at the present time there is a remnant chosen by grace.

26. “The deliverer will come from Zion;
he will turn godlessness away from Jacob (Isaiah 59:20).

Matthew 16:
15“But what about you?” Yeshua asked. “Who do you say I am?”

16. Simon Peter answered, "You are the Messiah, the Son of the living
God."

17. Yeshua replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah! For this was
not revealed to you by flesh and blood (logic/reasoning/knowledge/human studying), but by My Father in heaven (Revelation/Spiritual insight).

18. And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock (Truthful confession)
I will build My church, and the gates of Hades will not prevail against it.…
