Were You There?

Does the absence of biblical corpses conclude their nonexistence?

The standard of acceptability for historical figures should remain the
same for both the secular and religious. What classifies as "solid evidence"
in order to deny or accept the historicity of a person?

All bias aside..let's compare Hannibal, for example..

Although there are plenty of writings about this general
(minus the fact he is NOT mentioned in any Carthaginian sources
themselves..even though he is alleged to be their greatest leader...
Obviously because the victorious Romans burned their city down...so the Roman version of history would survive....Would that classify as "solid evidence", "proof" or possible forgeries of said events?).
There exist no archaeological evidence to support he ever existed.
What about the "disparities" (or would you call them contradictions)
in the details of the path Hannibal is said to have taken recorded by Polybius and Livy?

What we know about Hannibal comes from the Greeks and the Romans writings (NONE from archaeology to prove physical evidences...including any elephant remains or bones from any of the Carthaginian soldiers).
The historians, Polybius and Livy, couldn't even agree on the route he took...so even what could classify as literary evidence is questionable and NOT solid at all..

King Tut's remains was discovered in 1922-25...up to that point
one may have called for more "solid evidence"....
Then there is the mummy of Nefertiti who has yet be found or
officially identified. Whereas, King Uzziah/Azariah of Judah,
stone burial plaque has been discovered with said bones inside.
The Moabites revolt against this king (2nd Kings 3:5–7) is found in the Moabites records themselves on their Mesha stele. And there are countless other non-biblical records attesting to people of the Bible.

There is such a thing as invisible evidence.

For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:(Romans 1:20).

We know that with the aid of chemicals, special lights, and microscopes (NOTE:being understood by the things that are made); latent evidence become visible (NOTE:For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen).

Faith is not without evidence.

Now faith is the SUBSTANCE of things hoped for, the EVIDENCE of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1).

We see the psalmist speaks of the corroboration of his existences and those of his posterity, long before they physically materialize, in the form of double helix DNA.

Psalm 139:16
Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect (susceptible to dna mutation) ; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned,
when as yet there was none of them.

Double helix DNA is comparable to a book. The genetic information is understood by the written instructions (Note: and in thy book all my members {His personal set of genes & the known GENErations/members of  his bloodline who will follow Jeremiah 1:5} were written)... transferring
genes to the succeeding generation (Note: which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them).

So it's not that sources don't exist for claims of both the religious and secular....it's more or less about what is believed to be reliable or if you will "solid evidence", each of us is willing to accept or deny..
